JD, The Inn Cat
"Just a brief note to let you know that my good buddy, JD died about 12:10 AM today, 27 April 2008. I was with him, and he went quickly, probably from a heart attack, as the vet had told me he would. He was 16-1/2—lots of precious years to share together, but not enough…
He lead a great life here at the Inn; being around guests and friends; he loved people and appreciated all the pampering he received, He was pretty healthy until about three years ago when he became deaf. About 2 -1/2 years ago he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and 1-1/2 months ago was diagnosed with advanced cardiac disease. He received great compassionate medical care from Dr. Debbie McCurry (Heartland Animal Hospital in Boiling Springs) and Dr. Laura Cousins, Internal Medicine Vet at Vet Specialists in Greenville. Dr. Debbie used to tell him he knew more cuss words than any cat she had ever met (Wonder if it had anything to do with his Mom being a sailor?).
He was the VERY BEST; I will miss him greatly. Today has been a very empty day for me. My brother Mark, his wife Tisha and JD’s cousins Zachary and Josie came today to help me give him a proper burial.
Thanks to everyone who has loved on him over the years and prayed for his health.
Give your own pets and extra hug from me tonight."
J.D. Cat sort of owns the Inn and allows Peggy to live here; however,
